Renewable biomass based thermal energy generation in Mangal Textile Mills (I) Pvt. Ltd.

Harnessing Renewable Biomass for Sustainable Thermal Energy: A Pioneering Project

This project exemplifies a commitment to sustainable energy solutions by efficiently utilizing locally sourced renewable biomass residues to meet thermal energy demands. By replacing the conventional use of fossil fuels like lignite, the project significantly reduces greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and promotes a circular economy.

At the heart of this initiative lies advanced Fluidized Bed Combustion (FBC) technology. Our state-of-the-art steam boilers, with capacities of 12 TPH and 6 TPH (tonnes per hour), and thermic fluid heaters, boasting capacities of 2.0 mkcal/hr and 2.5 mkcal/hr, generate thermal energy exclusively for in-house consumption. This closed-loop system maximizes efficiency and minimizes environmental impact.

Sustainable Development Impact

This project’s positive influence extends far beyond emissions reduction, contributing significantly to various facets of sustainable development:

  • Social Wellbeing: By sourcing biomass from local suppliers, the project generates additional revenue streams for farmers, biomass handlers, and equipment providers, fostering economic empowerment within the community. This strengthens local economies and promotes a more equitable distribution of wealth.
  • Economic Prosperity: The project creates new business opportunities for local villagers, labor contractors, equipment suppliers, and biomass providers, thereby enhancing income and bolstering regional economies. Furthermore, by reducing reliance on fossil fuels, the project strengthens national energy security.
  • Environmental Wellbeing: Replacing fossil fuels with renewable biomass ensures carbon neutrality, as the CO2 released during combustion is recaptured during biomass growth. This significantly reduces net GHG emissions, contributing to cleaner air and a healthier planet.
  • Technological Advancement: The implementation of FBC technology showcases an innovative approach to biomass utilization, encouraging other textile companies to adopt similar sustainable practices for meeting process heat requirements and furthering technological progress within the industry.
